Match notes
The weather started nice at The Dukes home stadium, but there were some omnious clouds looming on the horizon. A good number of elven fans attended this important game in Group E as their team took on the humans of Tüskarna från Linghed. The humans would not be outdone on the stands though, bringing with them an equal number of supporters.

Coach Coma won the initial roll and elected to kick to Tüskarna. Perhaps he regretted his decision as coach Magnus brought his team forward and scored a casualty at the very first turn of the game!

The humans secured the ball in their right backfield and started applying preassure to the center and the right side of the pitch. The Dukes pushed back good though, and after a while Tüskarna moved the ball and their cage to the leftmost part of the line of scrimmage.

A serious brawl just to left of the center of the pitch resulted in a knocked out human, but several elves were also carried off the pitch. Tüskarna från Linghed was obviously dishing it out to The Dukes. Surely the elves will have to investigate what happened to their armour, as it seemed to break almost by itself the entire game!

"Zat is not German steel, I can tell you az much" commented Leopold later during the half time rest.

After som serious Handgemenge and a close call where The Dukes knocked the ball loose, Tüskarna had a good numeral advantage and moved the ball up the elves left field with several players to cover Lothar who had managed to pick it up in the midfield ruckus.

As it looked like nothing could stop the touchdown Helmut gave up a horrible roar! The lineelf he was just attacking gave a smug smile and the ogre went down with a moan, gripping his groin.

Lothar was probably only enraged by this, as he really gave it to Eirdeth who took the opportunity to try to knock the ball loose. A quick uppercut and a nice boot to the face put an end to the elfs attack and has forced the star catcher of The Dukes to recuperate and miss their next game. Even the elven apothecary could do nothing to ease his pain.

His wingmen taking out the other two elves on his tail, Lothar waved to the crowd as he ran in a touchdown in the end of the first half.

Things were looking grim for The Dukes as the rain started pouring down in the beginning of the second half, probably having an inpact on their passing game. Being outnumbered they had to go for a quick touchdown to perhaps get some of their knocked out players on their feet again and even the score.

Unfortunately for the Elves, Nuffle is not on their side and a failed block means that Tüskarna can move up their team and apply preassure on the ball and the Elves there trying to secure it.

The rain and all the humans creates difficulties for the elves, and after a failed dodge even more players are drawn in to the area around the ball. Helmut, still walking a bit funny, got his first proper casualty in the melee, taking his revenge on the Dukes who were now seriously outnumbered.

After a failed attempt to pick up the ball Leopold, the team captain himself, shows his Kameraden how it is done. He runs in the 0-2 touchdown as the rain drips off his impressive hat.

One of the knocked out elves wakes up in time for this drive, for a total of five players for The Dukes. Tüskarna från Linghed immediately takes advantage of the situation and throws a blitz!

Coach Coma yells to his players to defend the ball, and for a while they do it valiantly, pushing the humans back. But Magnus has the numbers, and brings them down on the few elves on the pitch.

Franz picks up the ball after some positioning, pushing and punching. While he is not well protected, the elf trying to reach him fails his dodge and the 0-3 result is a fact.

Morgoth, the only elf to really do something useful got an MVP. Combined with his completion not a bad first game for the thrower. The rest of his teammates did not accomplish much though in what was clearly a poor game for The Dukes. What did they do to offend Nuffle so?

Dieter, one of the two human journeymans, caught the eye of both the crowd and coach Magnus and was avarded an MVP. Rumour has it that he will be hired to the team as well!

Tüskarna från Lingheds next game is against Children of the Corn and could see them into the playoffs. Commenting the game afterwards Magnus cursed his lack of catchers, noting that a couple of them would have come in handy against the slower Chaos team.

The Dukes will face even more humans as they take on the group leaders Gjallarhornets IF, a game that can affect the playoffs as well. Coach Coma commented that his team perhaps should focus more on training the current team and not bring in any new players for a while. After a game like this, who can argue?
