Howdy sports fans and welcome to this nice day where Tüskarna från Linghed takes on the Chaos of Children of the Corn. This game will decide which of the teams will take second place in Division E and have a shot at the playoffs.
The Children definitely have the strength advantage, but Tüskarna have more skills and speed and also have the inducements to hire a Bloodweiser Babe.
The cointoss is done and it seems like Tüskarna won and elected to kick as they are setting up pretty shallow 4-4-3 defence.
Oh! The Children are really on their feet.. er, hooves, no wait... claws and starts the game with a Quick Snap! They shore up their defenses, throws some punches and get a hold of the ball in a very effective first turn.
Tüskarna responds by putting preassure on the ball carrier in the center of the field. Two Blitzers are covering him and the Warrior protecting him.
The punches are flying but no one seems to do any real damage. Wait, what is that?  Werner is down! Werner is knocked out!
Even though they are one man short the humans are putting up a good fight and the ball is really bogged down.
The fight is moving a bit to the right on Tüskarnas half of the pitch and the pushing continues. What a slugfest, but no casualties yet. One of the beastmen is carried of the pitch though, knocked out.
The time is dragging on here without any real progress for either team. Wait, what is this? Karl is trying to pick up the ball, in two tacklezones no less! And boy does he make it look easy! He dodges out and look! He has spotted the human journeyman Bruno skulking down by the chaos end field! The ball is in the air, oh, it's dead on, that a throw! Will the rookie be able to catch it! The whole stadium is holding it's breath...
Yes! He does it! He makes the catch and look at him go. Tüskarna från Linghed really shows their opponent how to play Blood Bowl with this devastating touchdown in the final moments of the first half!
After some well deserved rest the players are back on the field. Children of the Corn is setting up a slightly spread out 2-5-3 defence and Tüskarna is setting up heavy on the right side looking to take advantage of there only been one Warrior on the wide zone.
The kick is away and it goes deep! And it seems both coaches are well prepared for the second half with their Brilliant Coaching. The teams get one extra reroll each.
T˙skarna secures the ball deep in their half and is now going for the lonely warrior on the right. He goes down and two Blitzers run into chaos half of the field.
The Children moves to mark up the Blitzers and put preassure on the Humans who look a bit spread out with players both deep in their own, and their opponents, half of the pitch.
Some running and a well executed pass by Franz sees the Ogre and two Blitzers in possession of the ball a few yards down from the line of scrimmage. The rest of their team cannot really keep the pace and they look a bit exposed.
And here comes the Beastmen rumbling in! Lothar will have to hold on tight to the ball! They did not knock him down, but he and his wingmen seems surrounded.
Oh! And look at Stärkelse! Ralf will not be participating in the game after that uppercut I can tell you that much!
The humans are moving up to secure their advantage and keep the chaos players from their ball carrier. There is some pushing going on and Lothar sees an opening! He's running for it and 2-0 is a fact!
Children of the Corn is in serious trouble now with only 4 turns left to turn this around.
They receive the kick and after yet another Quick Snap set up a good cage around the ball carrier. Tüskarna från Linghed positions their defenders but does not put much preassure on the ball. Are they worried about their numerical disadvantage?
The Children move the ball forward down on T˙skarnas right side and the humans respond by some repositioning.
The chaos players now have a good momentum and they crash into the humans trying to stop them. The endzone is in their sight when a blitz by Florian puts a tacklezone on the ballcarrier. The humans try desperately to cover the yards to the endzone and manage to get a good number of players there.
This is it, make or break time for the chaos team. The ballcarrier is blitzed free and a human Thrower is blocked down to make some room.
They are going for a handoff! Välling is waving his five arms in the air and can't wait to get the ball. And he gets it! He catches it with ease and look at him go! He dodges, and runs and goes for it.. Yes, it's a touchdown!
This well executed play ends the game 2-1 in touchdowns, 0-1 in casualties and 0-0 in kills. A closely fought game where Nuffle was on the side of the humans. |
