Dinah Mightier

When Frivolous Sal and Dinah Might were killed during the Bombers very first game, the still inexperienced necromancer of Soul Harvesters attempted to raise them both as zombies. Having to focus on Frivolous Sal during a crucial moment allowed Bomber supporters a window of opportunity to spirit away the body of Dinah Might and bury it beneath a tree in her home forest.

But the spirit of vengeance burned in Dinah's deceased frame, and with her soul bound in her body by the foul rites of the necromancer she had no opportunity to pass on to the afterlife. But as the year went by the roots of the tree started to grow through her body, sucking up the embalming juices and malevolent magics of the necromancer, with which followed Dinah's very soul and will.

The magics of the necromancer had not been enough to animate Dinah's dead body, but it was just enough to animate a living tree.
Dinah is not as agile as before, and if she isn't careful she will slip back into being a tree at the most inopportunate moment - but she is back on the pitch for a second showing, and there is little else she could ask for.
